Thư gửi Đại Sứ Mỹ Michael Michalak và Dân Biểu Mỹ Loretta Sanchez
Nhân dịp buổi gặp mặt giữa ông Đại Sứ Mỹ Michael Michalak và Cộng Đồng Người Việt tại Orange County vào ngày 14/10/2007 do Bà Dân Biểu Loretta Sanchez tổ chức, Hội Bảo Vệ Nhà Văn TKTT đã nhờ người trao tận tay hai vị này thư kêu gọi can thiệp với nhà cầm quyền Việt Nam cho trường hợp của nhà văn Trần Khải Thanh Thủy hiện đang bị giam giữ trái phép không xét xử đã gần 6 tháng trong khi Bà đang bệnh tật trầm trọng.

Dear Ambassador Michalak,
We welcome you back from Vietnam after a first short period as the American Ambassador in Vietnam. We hope that you enjoy your time back home.
As you already know, you are meeting with the Congresswoman, Loretta Sanchez and the Vietnamese Community in Orange County on Oct-14-07. We would like to take this opportunity, to bring to your attention, the case of dissident writer TRAN KHAI THANH THUY, who has been arrested by the Vietnamese authorities on April 21st 2007. The attached profile of TRAN KHAI THANH THUY, prepared by English P.E.N (which has recently elected her as its honorary member), will tell you the details about her case. http://www.englishpen.org/writersinprison/honorarymembers/vietnam/trankhaithanhthuy/
As you perhaps would know, TRAN KHAI THANH THUY is being kept in jail without trial for almost 6 months. Her family has not been allowed to visit her, despite the fact that she is seriously ill, suffering from diabetes and advanced lung tuberculosis. Her life is in real danger.
We ask you to raise her case to the Vietnamese authority and demanding them to free her immediately in order for her to follow the hospital prescription and receive medical treatment properly.
If in the case that the Vietnamese authorities do not free her, we ask that you regulate her a rational trail. The Vietnamese authorities are treating her so cruelly, and it contravenes the United Nations Agreements on Human Rights, that Vietnam has agreed to abide by.

It was heard on the news that you have arranged a meeting on Sunday October 14, 2007 with Mr. Michael Michalak and the Vietnamese Community in Orange County to discuss various issues concerning Vietnam.
We wish to take this opportunity to ask for your help in bringing attention to Mr Michael Michalak the case of Tran Khai Thanh Thuy. Tran Khai Thanh Thuy is a dissident writer who has been arrested by the Vietnamese authorities on April, 21st 2007, despite the fact that she is seriously ill, suffering from diabetes and advanced lung tuberculosis.
